Parts making whole

These are old earring material trials that
were not used, or extras.
New materials for something else!

Whole piece and cutout parts

This is the first week I'm recycling old
drawings and I really like it!  The parts
take on their own flavor.

Whole and parts/ rearanged

This is an old drawing, and I re-
arranged the parts, which
cooperated in becoming
this satisfyingly odd
figure.

Mixing up a texture

Starting out with arranging, which I really enjoy.
What to do with the arrangement?  Does it create
a texture?  Or not?  Should I have just  done this-
????????????????????????????????????????????
There's a texture.
Instead, I twirled it.

Recyled lines

This tugboat liner type shape appeared when I
taped together some of the cuts I had made
in yesterdays line drawing.
Surprised and delighted me!

Organic lines

Finding lines outdoors.

Lines/Playing with materials

Here's the recipe: 12 mini colored pencils
           4 twisty ties
               5 tinfoil spears
                            8 post-it notes, cut thin
                    3 color aid stripes
Mess around with placement of ingredients,
finding the magic moment when the assemblage
wants you to stop. Notice that this comes after
20 minutes of adding unnecessary ingredients.

Remove these, photograph, post.  Voila!

Lines

Yesterday I was riding around noticing lines, and
I thought about how a line becomes a shape when
it connects.

And how the enormous dictionary I have has about
a page of definitions of the word line.  And how
many fantastically varied ways we can
choose to make them.

Large pair, small eggs.

A couple of bigger toads above, ribbons of very
small eggs below, and a HUGE racket
around the pond.

Large object/small additions

Another.
Old images and 3d parts of other artwork
piled on a
camera book stand, then slightly altered.
I seem to have a penchant for
making faces!

Big and little

I always find it amazing and interesting how a
single small detail can change the interpretation
of an image.
