Distortion is a word that I have thought
of mainly as if it had a negative connotation.
Playing with the concept this week, I find
it generative instead. I can distort images
intentionally to have a greater range
of possibilities and more fun!
Another example of how I can learn from sister-bloggers! I wrote about the prompt this morning before seeing yours and Deb's. So valuable to see a reframe! And very cute, too.
ReplyDeleteI love these figures. I also enjoy the background of clouds. These characters are so animated and curious. I do not know exactly what they are - they are hard to define and that helps my imagination open up
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness they are wonderfully adorable! and engaged with eachother. i love love love this notion that as we distort we can create whole new characters. michele has done it with distorting her hairdos and i did it with veggies, margaret gave the clock a fluidity and ondge created different characters with her 'self-portraits'. yes, so many more possibilities.
ReplyDeleteI am learning something here - reading all your comments. So distortion opens up the possibility of new characters. That is a different way for me to think about it. A more positive way. Leni - these two characters seem alive (or animated as Michele said) and to be in relationship to one another. I love the sky and clouds.
