Since I began blogging with you and taking lots of
photos, I have been fascinated by shadows. How
ephemeral they are, how the light dances across
surfaces, ebbing and flowing. This morning when
the sky was bright, I came upon this shadow shape
I found beautiful. And I know from experience
that when you move from a spot to go find your
camera, it can be gone in a twinkling, or morph
completely as the sun rises, the breeze blows, a
cloud passes....
So I stood in one place and followed the shadow
shape as it shifted. The sun rose, the shadow
slipped down the wall slowly, until it was gone.
Another experiment! I realized that sometimes I just need to
stay in place, not knowing, to really notice what is happening.
It's amazing how much we can learn standing still. I was just looking at Andrea's blog and it is interesting how you both posted on the idea of 'shifting shapes' or 'shapeshifters' today. And then, on that note, Deb's post was about shifting blobs and at the same time how some things don't change. Well, these are just my thoughts after looking at the three blogs.
ReplyDeleteThis is a still image that moves from frame to frame and changes... Perhaps your photo enables me to watch something - a shape shift - that I don't really notice. I guess I find this beautiful, still, slow set of photos to be very exciting and moving.
ReplyDeletebeautiful len. i love hearing your observations about what you noticed. i love the movement of this simple shape.
ReplyDeleteGreat insight. Staying in place can be so useful. So true. It can give us a unique perspective if only we are patient.
ReplyDeleteLove the abstract shapes and the colors are warm.
